Ingredients
For the Chalupa Shells:
- 4-Pack Stonefire® Original Mini Naan
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Filling:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Sour cream, for topping
Directions
- Prepare the Chalupa Shells: Heat vegetable oil in a heavy bottom pan to 350°F . Carefully place one mini naan at a time into the hot oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side. Use a metal spatula and tongs to fold the naan in half, creating a taco shell shape and fry for an additional minute or two. Once the naan is golden brown and crisp, use a slotted spoon to remove and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Repeat this process for the remaining naan.
- Prepare the Filling: In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through.
- Assemble the Chalupas: Take each fried naan shell and fill it with the seasoned ground beef. Layer with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese. Finish with a dollop of sour cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy. Feel free to further customize the fillings with your favorite toppings or condiments. Yum!
